Anton was brought directly from the Tottenham Hotspur International Development Coach, London, to witness the AIA Championship for the Women's National Competition on December 1.
The competition which was first held by AIA was attended by 16 teams from various regions. What's interesting about this competition is not only choosing the championship team, also the 16 best players chosen to represent Indonesia in regional competitions in Bangkok, Thailand, March 2019.
If you manage to become a finalist in Bangkok, the AIA Indonesia team will compete in the final round at the Tottenham Hotspur headquarters in London. Anton also became one of the trainers who participated in watching and choosing the best players.
"There is a lot of potential here. I think because there are many potential players and unfortunately if not taken. This is a tough choice for us to choose," Anton said, at a press conference held at Wisma Aldiron, Gatot Subroto, Jakarta, Saturday (1 / 12/3018).
"I think the enthusiasm of women's football here is also quite high. But to choose players I have to see the technique of playing football, physically, and must have a high sensitivity to be able to apply the tactics and strategies given by the coach," he said later.
He added, Indonesian women's football has the opportunity to develop. But there must be competition that displays it.
"I think women's football in Indonesia needs an opportunity to develop one way with competitions or championships like this. The advantage of female footballers here I see they have fun skills and play. But the point is they need more competition so they can develop games, "advice.
