The 16 best players were selected through the AIA Championship for Women competition which took place at the beginning of December 2018. The event which was first held by AIA with the hashtag #gakharuslaki was attended by 16 teams from various regions in Indonesia.
The midfielder of the Indonesian women's national team, Dhanielle Daphne, representing the Jakarta 69A club said she was proud to be elected to represent Indonesia in Bangkok later.
"I am happy, of course, because there are activities to fill my spare time, plus training as a team. I am very happy because this is just being held by AIA. This is the beginning of a women's tournament," said Dhanielle, who won third place with her team.
The same thing was expressed by Zahra Muzdalifah. He didn't even think and promised to give his best.
"Surely it was really nice, especially because this was the first time I didn't have to be a man. Not only competition but there was a selection. I didn't think I was chosen because of my basic soccer, but this is five to five," Zahra said separately.
"Opponents in Thailand don't know yet, how about there, who plays I don't know. The important thing is we practice seriously and give the best. Because if we can get to the finals, we will be taken to London," he continued.
"Actually, to Bangkok alone, I am happy, this is London again. Yes, surely I want the final, there is spirit. Not only me, but other players will feel the same. Whenever women are cared for like this with us, we can open the eyes of the world that women can play football. That is also a plus for the Indonesian people, "he said.
