Bhayangkara was confirmed not to win the League 1 after being defeated by Persebaya Surabaya with a score of 0-1 on Monday (26/11). Their current number of points (49) makes it impossible to pass PSM Makassar (57) with two matches remaining.
In the last two matches, Bhayangkara will play a home match. They will host PSM Makassar on Monday (3/12) and Bali United, Sunday (9/12) at PTIK Stadium, South Jakarta.
Both matches will be maximized by Bhayangkara to secure the top three positions. Currently they are in fourth place, one point adrift of Persib Bandung, who are in third place with 50 points.
"For the champions it is impossible, heavy. Indeed, from the beginning we did not set a champion. Our target for entering the top 5 was not as serious as last year," Bhayangkara manager FC Sumardji told detikport.com on Saturday (01/12). / 2018).
"If we look at last season in the second half, we want to be champions, so we can optimize all the strength we have including quality players," he added.
"So, now we just want to be big. Thank God if we can get the top three alhamdullilah. That term loosens nerves. Becoming last year's champion and next year's champion will be more difficult."
To make it happen, the first step for Bhayangkara is to overcome PSM. Simon McMenemy's landing team did the exercises on Saturday (1/12) this morning.
"In preparation for this morning we just practiced. We prepared everything well because this home match has a good meaning and meaning for the club. Of course we really want to secure the rest of these two home games at the latest. We don't just let go, "Sumardji said.
